Construction Updates: George School Science Center Labs Completed

As part of the George School’s program to upgrade existing classroom spaces throughout the campus, MBTA designed renovations for multiple classrooms within the Spruance-Alden Science Center.  The chemistry curriculum required an additional classroom that combined instructional and laboratory activities.  A general use classroom was available to renovate for the freshmen science program.

The renovation included new options for instructional seating arrangements, new finishes, casework, fume hood and lab fixtures, plumbing, lighting, interactive teaching boards and systems improvements.  The chemistry classroom was designed with perimeter peninsula lab benches surrounding the instructional area.  The general science classroom, which includes instructional and lab seating areas, features a flexible ceiling grid for hanging educational displays and for physics demonstrations.
